Water Levels
The fact of the matter is that spring runoff is one of the best times to go whitewater rafting! The water levels are higher, the temperatures variable, and the newspaper articles are scarier. So, why?
How to Have the Best Spring Rafting Trip
First, more water in the river is a good thing from our stand point. Rapids in our narrow Roaring Fork River are actually easier to navigate when all those pesky rocks are covered with water. The splashes are bigger too! With the proper gear, you will not need to worry about being cold either. It is important to wear all the gear provided to you as you can always shed layers if you get to warm. Also, paddle hard to keep that heart rate up.
Shouldn’t we use caution when the river is higher? Absolutely! Go with a professional. We have spent years honing our river skills and choose to spend our time on the water. All this is to say if you choose to go rafting with us in Aspen during the spring runoff, you will have an unforgettable experience. So don’t by shy! The water level is just right.
